Team Motto: “Well, we’re a beast; they must have been trippin’ to let us off the leash.”

Team Middle America! Welcome to your Roadie interview. Exciting stuff. Let’s begin with your name and where you’re from.

Emily Williams (EW): I am Emily and I’m from Roswell, New Mexico.

Like Roswell…the Roswell?

EW: Yes.

Awesome. Seen any UFO’s?

EW: No.

Bummer.

Liz Warren (LW): I’m Liz and I’m from Salisbury, Maryland.

Like the steak?

LW: Yes.

Yum.

Andrew Witmer (AW): My name is Andrew and I’m from Irvine, California.

Laura Dykster (LD): I’m Laura and I’m from Madison, Wisconsin.

How did you find out about Invisible Children?

EW: My junior year of college [at New Mexico State University], I saw The Rescue. I got involved the next semester with 25.

LW: I was a senior in high school and saw Sunday, and then went to some screenings in college.

AW: In college [at Cal State University Long Beach], my sister brought home The Rough Cut over winter break.  I was floored that this was going on and I had no idea. I then got involved at the events Displace Me, The Rescue, and an IC club at college.

LD: I was s sophomore in high school when I saw The Rough Cut. I was part of the Global Night Commute and have been hooked ever since. I also was a Fourth Estate attendee.

What are your vices? What will annoy your teammates?

EW: I love blue grass music.

LW: And I love reggae music.

Conflict of interest! How about you Andrew?

AW: A lot of people don’t like my music – I listen to metal. My favorite band is Kill Switch Engage. And I’m the driver, so…

LD: I get crabby when I’m tired.

I feel you Laura. And good luck to the rest of you with your musical differences. What is your favorite movie?

EW: The Fantastic Mr. Fox.

LW: The Proposal.

AW: Star Wars.

Which one?

AW: Return of the Jedi.

Nice.

LD: West Side Story.

What are you most looking forward to on this tour?

EW: Canada – I’ve never been out of the country!

LW: I’m excited for the conversations with all the students; I’m hoping to inspire more global awareness.

AW: Getting kids involved for the first time. I’m excited that we’re making it easy for them to get involved with KONY 2012.

LD: I’m looking forward to being able to talk to kids that were in my situation – in high school, not knowing what’s coming next, how exciting it can be to be part of something huge.

What is your favorite food?

EW: Ice cream.

LW: Pretzels.

AW: Hot dogs.

LD: My mom’s homemade pizza.

What a healthy bunch! If you could have lunch with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?

EW: Sufjan Stevens.

LW: Johnny Depp…because.

Yes, that one needs no explanation.

AW: Howard Zinn, he’s a historian.

LD: Martin Luther King, Jr.

We’re so proud to have you all representing Invisible Children on this tour. Good-bye and good luck!
