Greetings. Our last installment of our january mixes has arrived. Set a calendar reminder for next week’s Monday Mini Mixtape: februaryONE.

The Invisible Children Music team has been very busy of late gearing up for SXSW and a very special thing we’re filming soon (so vague and so amazing), and we’re excited to close out this month’s mixes with these tunes.

Thanks to everyone for the listens each week – we’re very appreciative (special s/o to Cassie Parks, Joel Enoch, and Matt Mugford – we see you reading this.)

Per usual, click on all the links to dig deeper into the catalogs and purchase the tunes and book tickets for their gigs.

01. SAM SMITH – “Lay Me Down” :: Sam Smith sang the vocals on the huge hit from Disclosure “Latch,” and now he’s releasing his first solo single produced by the duo and Jimmy Napes. It’s a throwback R&B/pop track that is so smooth.

02. SAMPHA – “Indecision” :: Sampha is a severely underrated singer who’s worked with the likes of Jessie Ware and SBTRKT. This is his track from last year, and the chilly vibes from this one are quite strong. I’ve been singing it all week. I aspire for his tone.

03. DISCLOSURE + ALUNAGEORGE – “White Noise” :: Speaking of the geniuses behind “Latch…” “White Noise” is the follow-up from the upcoming debut record from Disclosure, featuring vocals from AlunaGeorge, another brilliant UK talent.

04. MS MR – “Fantasy” :: The New York City twosome return with this dark anthem we’re really into right now.

05. THE 1975 – “You” :: This track was heavily suggested by one of our editors Jay Salbert, currently in DR Congo. This one goes out to you, Mr. Salbert.

06. CLARE MAGUIRE – “Happy Anniversary (Demo)” :: Clare has been providing the goods ever since her first single “Ain’t Nobody.” She’s been working in Nashville on her new music, as you can hear on this demo about a reunion with a former flame that she graciously uploaded. I’m personally very excited to hear more from her very soon.

07. YOUTH LAGOON – “Dropla” :: Youth Lagoon is an office favorite, and I was completely sold on this new one. It’s a bit Flaming Lips-esque, which I am very appreciative of.

08. ANNA CALVI – “Desire” :: Kenny Laubbacher’s name is all over this one. He’s developed a recent obsession with this husky-toned singer, and it makes total sense since she’s amazing.
