We were thrilled to see that Noah Gundersen and his sister Abby performed on Mountain Stage for NPR Music this week… and you should be too. Why you ask?

Noah Gundersen NPR Mountain Stage

Well first, Gundersen is a longtime friend: He played at our 2013 Fourth Estate Summit, recorded a special video for our “Almost Live” series, and in general has shown much love for IC. So we’re always happy to support him right back.

Second, (as a consequence of the “first”) we’ve been exposed to his music for quite some time. He’s only 24, but Gundersen’s involvement with Invisible Children Music gave us the privilege of recognizing his talent early on. And we love seeing it recognized by others. It’s true heart-and-soul acoustic, so naturally we were stoked that NPR picked up on his incredible sound.

And third, if you haven’t had the chance to check out Gundersen’s latest LP, Ledges, here’s your opportunity to listen to four of the album’s top tracks, performed at the awesome Culture Center Theater in Charleston, West Virginia. He opens the set with “Poor Man’s Son” (also the opening track on the album) which sets the ernest and warm tone right off the bat. Impossibly more acoustic than the original recording, the balance between driving rhythm and lyrical depth is the quintessential example of what made fans fall for Gundersen’s folk-pop style to begin with.

Enjoy the tunes here!
