Nearly 60 million people around the world live displaced, including thousands in central Africa, forced to leave their homes because of the violence of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and other armed groups.

So today, on World Refugee Day we’re joining the United Nations to stand in solidarity #WithRefugees. Today, and every day, we honor the strength, courage, and resilience of individuals all over the world who have been forced to leave their homes.

We see this strength, courage, and resilience everyday in the communities in central Africa. Across the borders of Central African Republic (CAR), DR Congo (DRC) and South Sudan, hundreds of thousands of individuals live in constant danger of LRA attacks. Isolated and with little communication with the outside world, these communities do not have the opportunity to predict LRA attacks or call for help when they occur. As a result, hundreds of thousands of individuals have been displaced by a small number of remaining LRA fighters.

These individuals are why we continue to advocate for communities in central Africa affected by LRA violence. Through the LRA Crisis Tracker we amplify the voices of community leaders who report LRA attacks via our Early Warning Radio Network. Informed by the LRA Crisis Tracker, we mobilize young people across the United States, and the world, to engage with their leaders through our Citizen Activist Network.

Join us, and the UN in standing with refugees around the world. Pledge your support and urge leaders around the world to ensure that every refugee child receives an education, every refugee family has “somewhere safe to live,” and “every refugee can work or learn new skills to make a positive contribution to their community.”

Stand #WithRefugees.

TAKE IT A STEP FURTHER BY GIVING TO HELP PROTECT VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES IN CENTRAL AFRICA FROM LRA VIOLENCE.
