Thank you for your interest in Invisible Children.

Invisible Children is an amazing place to work. It's truly unique to work for an company where your motivation comes from a genuine belief in the mission and goals of the organization. We want our staff to be used to the best of their abilities and to live for what they feel they were made to do. Because of that, we do work very hard. We treat the situation in Uganda as an emergency, and our work ethic follows accordingly.

Coming on staff at Invisible Children is a courtship by both parties; feel free to ask us as many questions as we ask you. Every day I am thankful for the opportunity I have to be on the Invisible Children Team. I hope after some consideration, you’ll feel the same.

My best,

Ben Keesey
CEO Invisible Children, Inc.

Our Culture & Values

Invisible Children consists of a group of storytellers. Each of us are using our skill sets to help tell the daily stories coming out of Central East Africa and bring lasting peace to this region affected by decades of war. It’s a unique team we have that makes this happen and all of it is centered around shared beliefs in how we do what we do:

Respect for each individual.

Changing culture and policy is the end result, but we trust that will happen as a result of the personal connection and personal effect on specific individuals. Similarly, it is our approach to treat each child in Uganda as a unique individual with a unique situation.

We’re not into charity, we’re into genuine compassion.

We aim to have integrity in our service, consistency in our compassion, joy in our sacrifice, empathy in our understanding and partnership in our approach.

Staying humble.

Humility is defined as, "A quality by which a person considering his own defects has a humble opinion of himself and willingly submits himself to others for the sake of something larger than themselves." Humility is an unnatural quality that we are in constant pursuit of.

We love a good idea.

Any good idea will be considered and implemented regardless of the source.

Taking risks.

Balancing a responsible structure in our company with a “jump first, fear later” mentality is one of our biggest strengths. We realize it takes sound decision-making and well-thought out planning to create lasting impact. But we also realize the importance of taking risks and ignoring outdated barometers of success.

Commitment to excellence and authentic life change.

We are working for clear, transparent and tangible results in the lives of the people we aim to serve. By working together and valuing sacrifice and service to others, we are creating a new model of giving and a new model of development.

Unity among Staff.

All of these values reinforce a strong unity amongst our staff and a strong community around the work we do. It’s an unrivaled atmosphere.

Idealism.

There’s no room for cynicism in the work we do. That doesn’t mean we aren’t constantly questioning and evaluating our methods, but it’s all rooted in a strong idealism that we can change the world. And we’re watching that happen each and every day.
