It’s hard to believe that 2013 is already coming to a close. For my last Monday Mini Mixtape, I have compiled some new music from some of my favorite artists and some new ones that recently caught my attention.
01. Say Lou Lou — “Better In The Dark” :: I stumbled across this track from Swedish band Say Lou Lou last week with the release of the new video for the track. The rhythm and harmonies in this track make a perfect start to this mixtape.
02. Matthew Mayfield — “Heartbeat” :: It has been a while since we have heard anything new from Matthew, so I was excited to hear this new track. This track is one of his slower songs, but a great track to take me through the next couple weeks.
03. Wake Owl — “Candy” :: With a simple start, this track builds up adding more sounds to create an upbeat tune that has all the feels of summer.
04. Young The Giant — “Crystallized” :: I have been anxiously awaiting the release of their new album for quite a while. This track is doing its part to tide me over while making me even more excited for the rest of the album.
05. Lorde — “Do Better” :: I’ve made no secret of my love for this young songstress. Her most recent release is another impressive addition to her recent debut album.
06. Phantogram — “Fall In Love” :: I am still reeling from seeing these guys play a couple months ago in San Diego. The duo gave us this track last week while we await their new album due out early next year. It’s another upbeat track with a killer rhythm that we know and love from them.
07. Sons et al — “Wayward Feet” :: This Australian band just caught my attention with this beautiful new track.
08. Cass McCombs — “Big Wheel” :: I’m closing out this one with a track from our friend and IC supporter, Cass. This track is one off his upcoming album Big Wheel and Others. Not surpisingly, this track is an incredible, yet simple rock tune that will most likely end up on loop.
