One of the world’s most active volcanoes started to spew lava on Tuesday. Sending streams of glowing molten rock into the pacific ocean, Mt. Kilauea once again created a spectacle. The volcano, which is located on the Hawaii’s big island, has been active since 1983 and is the most active of the five volcanoes on the island chain. While the eruption may pose destruction to property and local habitat, the lava actually gives new life. Not only does it create new land, the lava adds rich soil to the ground and, years after an eruption, local farmers and others benefit.
