Starting this Wednesday, the charity Christian Aid will be hosting an exhibition in London called ‘In Kony’s Shadow’. It consists of personal experiences shared through photographs, films and written accounts that the charity has collected which explore some of the scars- physical and mental- that the LRA have left in northern Uganda.

If anyone’s nearby check it out and let us know what it’s like (it runs until the March 16). For those of us on the other side of the pond there’s the stories on the exhibition’s website. It doesn’t shy away from the brutal and terrorizing acts of the LRA. 27 year old Bob Acaye is one Ugandan who shares his memories as part of the exhibition. He recollects:

‘Kony was like a dark shadow…the fear was always there, every single day.’

The focus of the exhibition is Uganda’s experience of LRA violence, but we’re pleased that Christian Aid has also chosen to emphasize the important fact that the LRA still exists and is currently active in the Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan, despite the fact that they are no longer present in Uganda.

Here at Invisible Children, we’re taking action to end the violence of the LRA once and for all by dismantling Kony’s rebel group from within. Check out how we’re doing it and donate to see Kony’s captives escape and communities in central Africa protected.
