Last week, we received quite a (literal) treat at the San Diego office, when our friends at Ben & Jerry’s stopped by. Ben & Jerry’s is currently on their “Core Tour” which means they are driving around both the East and West Coast dishing out sample-sized happiness. These ice cream roadies will go wherever you ask at the small price of a few tweets. It’s pretty safe to say that we all had a dreamy and ice cream-y afternoon.

We admire Ben & Jerry’s three-part mission that operates their company in a way that actively recognizes the central role that business plays in society by initiating innovative ways to improve the quality of life locally, nationally and internationally. The below article written about Invisible Children from the West Coast #CoreTour team. Thanks again for stopping by!

Core Tour Says Hello to Invisible Children’s Invincible Leaders

A values-based organization? You know we’re stopping by! Thanks for sharing your mission with us, Invisible Children!

Our co-founder Jerry Greenfield taught us long ago about the value of human rights, and how businesses have a responsibility to be an advocate for social justice.

In that spirit, we were thrilled by yesterday’s opportunity to visit a group of people who constantly work towards protecting the rights of others.

Founded in 2004, Invisible Children is an organization that works to help rehabilitate children and families affected by the Lord’s Resistance Army, or LRA.

Through the non-profit’s four-part model, they tirelessly raise awareness and support victims impacted by community violence and injustice at the hand of the LRA, led by Joseph Kony. Since 1987, the LRA has been involved with kidnappings, mass killings and the displacement of millions of East and Central Africans—many of whom are children.

To all the Invisible Children advocates out there: your efforts aren’t invisible to us. Keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing your mission with us.
