If we were to start counting our blessings, we would be covering our office in tally marks until Christmas – of next year. So we’re going to try our best to limit ourselves to just a handful of reasons we have to celebrate:

1. Freedom. This year alone, more than 500 people have returned from the LRA and are now living free from fear and captivity (including two who escaped just last week).

2. Justice. While it’s easy to get frustrated or disillusioned with the current systems of the world, we respect, admire, and celebrate the political leaders who have taken a stand to bring Joseph Kony to justice. This summer, Representatives Ed Royce and Jim McGovern introduced a letter to President Obama urging him to extend the counter-LRA U.S. advisory mission. It was signed by 76 members of Congress. That was the greatest amount of support we’ve ever had on an advisor-extension campaign, and we also owe it to your relentless Tweeting!

3. Courageous and fearless humanitarians. We are so inspired by individuals who are living their lives in a way that demands explanation. They’re bold, compassionate, and they don’t always fit in – but they’re bravely pursuing the things that make them come alive, and we think that’s the only way to change the world. In fact, they’re the inspiration behind our Jump First, Fear Later campaign, and we’ll be sharing their stories with you throughout the next couple of weeks.

4. YOU. Everything we do is made possible by our supporters – the ones who’ve stood with us every step of the way and used their voices and talents to demand justice. From monthly donations to hosting dance marathons around the country, you’ve shown time and time again that you are every bit as brave and passionate as the humanitarians described above. From the bottom of our hearts – thank you.
