James Blake has been an office choice since he emerged in 2010 with a string of EPs. I still struggle to get his cover of Joni Mitchell’s “A Case Of You” out of my head after we used it in a holiday campaign video a few years ago.
He was out of the game for a while, but he’s returning and is preparing to release his second full-length record Overgrown on April 8.
The first single provides the usual James Blake emotion and ambient grooves pairing that makes him so popular. It’s an instant addition to “Best Songs of 2013” already.
“Retrograde” is available for download starting February 11.
