We all have them. Friends who constantly upload pictures of their latest meals to Instagram. In fact, you may be that person. Normally I would be a little brash about these types of people, but like most situations I tend to see things the glass as half full – just don’t take a picture of it.
FoodShareFilter, the first Instagram-supportive software allows these aspiring culinary photographers to pay it forward. After downloading the app, users can filter their images to include a special message encouraging others to download the app as well. Proceeds from each purchase goes towards Manos Unidas, a charity that implements and supports agriculture programs in El Salvador. Nerea Cierco, whose company DDB Spain created the app, tells Co.Exist:
“Young people are used to improving their pics with touching and effects, and we know they are used to paying for these types of apps. So we thought there was opportunity to turn that action into help for others.”
FoodShareFilter is using technology and innovation to create a positive change in the world. The Fourth Estate Leadership Summit is doing the same. The Summit is a conference for students who want to meet the people, learn the skills, and gain the experiences that will help them make a difference in their own communities and others around the world.
