The Mend ladies were born to run, even in flip flops and high heels.
We love supporting a good cause, and getting some exercise in the process. Last Sunday staff and beneficiaries of Invisible Children Uganda took to the streets of Gulu for the Northern Uganda Marathon fundraiser for maternal health. Eight staff and 19 of the Mend seamstresses came to run the 10k, our own Laker Pamela taking third place in the women’s category.
Speaking of Mend, to honor the incredible mothers that the seamstresses are, we are donating 100% of the proceeds from our Mother’s Day collection to Mend. You can get an amazing handmade bag for mom and it benefits our favorite ladies in Gulu. Everybody wins.
