Inspiration can come from anything, whether it be a good movie, a good meal, a good conversation, or anything in between. When one of our film editors, Jay Salbert, needed inspiration for the epic opening video of Fourth Estate Summit, he turned to the impressive work of filmmakers Salomon Ligthelm and Dan DiFelice. This talented duo is currently running a Kickstarter campaign aimed at raising $60,000 to fund their latest project, Anomaly, a film that explores love, creation, and the cosmos. From the Kickstarter page:
Set in the late 60’s, ANOMALY is the story of broken relationships, and an astronomical event intertwining the various narrative threads – an abstract interpretation of the historical Christmas narrative…Oliver Grier, a young astronaut on a mission to space experiences the heartache and regret of a broken relationship. The film follows Oliver and his fiancé Haylee Lawson’s journey as they navigate love and disillusionment.
If the opening sequence for Fourth Estate Summit is anything like Lighthelm and DiFelice’s vastly impressive bodies of work, Summit attendees and viewers can expect to be blown away. If fully funded, the film is set to release at the end of 2013. In the meantime, Jay will continue to pour his inspiration and creativity into the opener, and we encourage you to check out Anomaly’s Kickstarter, and check out some test shots of the film below. If you can’t make it to the 2013 Fourth Estate Summit, we encourage you to experience the weekend through our exclusive live event coverage.
