A very good friend of mine recently wrote the following: “I’m beginning to think that the far worse outcome of our lives is that we would forever remain afraid and unwilling to create something beautiful because of the conviction it requires.” When I first listened to the debut EP Don’t Forget Me by Le Wrens, I’m was immediately attracted to the obvious courage it took to write and record those 4 songs.

And it also reminded me of a captivating interview I heard on NPR a year ago with a British Opera director who was recently knighted. Strange, right? He spoke about the imperative nature of art and music to not suspend reality in order to escape it for a moment in time, but rather to gently force the observer to look at it square in the face and wrestle with it. That’s the stuff I’m attracted to. And that’s why we invited Le Wrens to be a special part of the Fourth Estate Leadership Summit last month.

It’s our pleasure to release this beautiful video that we were able to capture of their debut single, “Don’t Forget Me.” It was shot in front of Royce Hall on UCLA’s campus during the summit [I love context].
