March 20th, 2011 marked the end of The Silver Series, and incredible time where 25 artist stepped out of the buzz from SXSW to the parks and riverside of Austin and lent their talents to help end 25 years of war in central Africa.
As the sun retreated behind the city, we looked back at what the last four days had given us: a mountain of footage, a ton of great memories, and something else. Something profound.
It’s easy to get caught up in the fun and music in SXSW, but there was something else driving us, and across a 4 day period with support from so many talented artists, we remembered that we weren’t alone in the understanding that where you live shouldn’t determine whether you live.
The day gave way to night on that last afternoon in Austin, and we relaxed on the lawn to enjoy a few songs played for us by Deer Tick with a sneak appearance by Matt Vasquez from Delta Spirit.
