It would be impossible for us to tell our story in one stream of consciousness. So far, tour has been a collection of incredible moments that, on our own, feel somehow suspended or out of place- but in conversations together, we remember the heart of this journey. We are halfway through our 10-week stint, and cannot imagine how we could be more blessed. The landscape continues to take our breath away again and again, as we were at first fortunate enough to visit the Grand Canyon and later what was once an ancient seabed, Arches National Park. But the land is only the beginning.
We continue to realize that this tour is a transition for humanity. We are watching the final push being made to bring an end to this conflict, and also the beginning to a more hopeful future. I have never felt more invested in humanity as a global community, and more love for each person I meet. We have been welcomed into our host homes without hesitation and our hearts ache for the many families we now have trickled across the region. We look into the eyes of every person we meet at a screening, and see a common light that I do not know how to describe. But it is exactly what keeps us going and gives us hope. Mountain West, you continue to teach us, challenge us, and reaffirm the beautiful potential humanity has. We are grateful, humbled, and will continue to pour ourselves into this task and into these communities.
Thank you.
