Mission accomplished. The UN asked for your participation in yesterday’s World Humanitarian Day, and one billion people around the world took part.

People tweeted their promise to do something good in their community, basically punching selfishness in the face. Some of the top supporters included internationally-known brands like Coca Cola and MTV and celebrities like Shakira, David Guetta and Ryan Seacrest.

And of course Beyonce, the face of the 2012 campaign, performed her song (and campaign anthem) ‘I was Here’ in front of a live audience at the United Nations in New York. You guys, she sang at the UN. In front of a giant screen. And maybe I cried.
