The Invisible Children Protection Plan was implemented in 2011 and represents the highest-impact and most effective projects aimed to counter the brutal violence of the LRA. Invisible Children traveled to Bas Uele in November to meet with prospective partners in the Bas Uele Early Warning expansion

In November 2011, Invisible Children staff met with local leaders to discuss future sites for Early Warning expansion in Bas Uele


Bas Uele is one of the most remote regions in Central Africa and Invisible Children staff, along with our partners CDJP, are in the process of spreading the HF network across the region. Each of these towers utilize the available materials and conditions for maximum efficiency. In this picture, a CDJP staff member is mounting a solar panel which charges the radios on the roof of a building.


One of the most exciting parts for Invisible Children staff and our partners in the 3-day installation of a radio is meeting with the local community to establish a Local Protection Comittee which is in charge of the radio, collecting and disseminating information and coordinating radio activities with the community and operators.
