This week, NASA launched what could possibly be its final mission with a rover named Curiosity that landed on Mars. As the fourth successful rover to land on Mars, Curiosity holds the most responsibility on its robotic shoulders to date: it must determine whether or not Mars has ever been inhabited by life or is even fit for it. Its mission includes searching for indicators that Mars may have once been home to Martians and tracking Martian geology.

This is mars. No, seriously.

The team at NASA is thrilled to be a part of this historical mission. In fact, one flight director has cut to extreme measures to show his dedication. Literally. This week, Bobak Ferdowsi—known for changing his hairstyle for each new mission—sported a new haircut at the office this week.

Since altering his look, Bobak has become a small celebrity. He has even watched his Twitter account gain over 20,000 new followers. He doesn’t mind the newfound fame, though. He humbly hopes it will encourage others to regain interest in NASA’s programs. Hey, we can get behind a guy who goes all in for what he believes in.
