In only a few weeks, a new batch of Ugandan Roadies will be heading to San Diego to meet their American teammates and hit the road. Traveling all over the US, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico, these teams will be encountering new experiences while also sharing their own. To prepare for the many screenings and workshops they will be conducting, the Ugandan Roadies are taking the next few weeks to learn in-depth about all of Invisible Children’s programs.
Many of the Roadies are students from the Legacy Scholarship Program, so while they are extremely familiar with that one IC program, there is still more to know. Today the Roadies paid a visit to Sacred Heart school to see the Schools for Schools (S4S) building projects, including a 3-story block of classrooms that are slated to be finished this year. In the afternoon they headed out with the Livelihood team to visit one of the Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) meetings in a village about one hour from Gulu town.
