Tony, a Legacy Scholarship Program (LSP) student, reflects on what he learned during his internship with the Invisible Children film team in Uganda:

It’s been a very wonderful journey for me since June 21st, 2012 when I started my internship with Invisible Children Uganda’s (ICU) Dream Factory 2. I have learned a lot of about filming, editing, setting up lights and cameras for an interview, as well as more on working together as a team and working on projects by myself.

My first day as an intern at ICU, I thought I would not do anything because it was my first time to start working in an office, but my supervisor was there to help me out and train me. She showed me how I can open a new project in Final Cut Pro and she even told me to feel free and ask her any questions that I may have in video production. That allowed me to feel comfortable in the office and learn everything that they taught me from day one up to now.

It has also given me an opportunity to put what I learned in school into practice, and it has encouraged me to go back to school to study more in film production. It also united me with people from the office and people outside the office, especially when we go out in the field to film. I want to thank Invisible Children for giving me this opportunity to get trained by Ashley and Jay, I want to say I have learned so much and I am ready to do any work at anytime when you need me.
