I set out to make a more folky mix, but couldn’t help stumbling across tons of great female vocalists who aren’t exactly Edie Brickell, but that I’m just as stoked on. Maybe Naser-Hall’s rubbing off on me.
Enjoy.
01. HALF MOON RUN – “Call Me In The Afternoon” :: I know we posted about these guys earlier this week, but this song is just so great, it’s a perfect kick off to this mix and for the IC crowd. Reminds me of Stornoway.
02. BAD THINGS – “Caught Inside” :: “Caught Inside”‘s massive final chorus is begging me to watch this band live. Fine. I will.
03. TOVE LO – ” Habits” :: It’s only a matter of time before this Swedish pop singer is blasting out chorus’s to some major dance-pop hits. I can’t wait.
04. ACTIVE CHILD – “Evening Ceremony” :: This song is just beautiful all around. I expect we’ll be seeing a lot more from Active Child this year.
05. I WILL, I SWEAR – “Long Days” :: If the sweet wintery sounds of this Belgian duo pierce you in their heart, their simple and emotional lyrics for sure will.
06. DENAI MOORE – “Gone” :: For real, she is about to blow up. We’re all about her.
07. KIERSTEN HOLINE – “Nomad” :: Honesty from this Seattle-based songwriter.
08. DALE EARNHARDT JR. JR. – “If You Didn’t See Me (Then You Weren’t On The Dancefloor)” :: Blissful electro-pop.
