Happy Monday, world. I feel very positive about April for many reasons – one being how incredible the musical output has been as of late. The James Blake, Io Echo, and Tyler, The Creator full-lengths are three of my favorites of the year so far.

Let’s get involved with this solid set of tunes that comprise our aprilTWO installment of Monday Mini Mixtape.

01 SAM SMITH – “The Lonely Hour” :: Sam Smith has this 90s R&B belter game on lock. He’s the freshest voice in live vocals right now.

02. MS MR – “Fantasy (NICITA Remix)” :: MS MR’s “Fantasy” is already one of the largest songs of the year in our mind, but this remix from Zach Nicita, the drummer for the MS MR live shows, takes it to an entirely new plane. It’s crunchy and vibey and quite perfect.

03. MISTERWIVES – “Vagabond” :: The newest song from Mandy Lee, the woman behind the vox of the “Midnight City” cover by The Knocks, and her band. The genius kicks in with one minute left of the track when she lets the vocals breathe. Strong song.

04. JOSH WELLER – “Mr. Hypochondriac” :: One of the most underrated songwriters out of the United Kingdom just released a free acoustic EP featuring this song that hits a little close to home.

05. BLAU BLUME – “On New Year’s Eve” :: The Antony Hegarty vibes from this song are so impressive. One of the most uniquely beautiful songs I’ve heard recently.

06. PHOENIX – “Entertainment (Blood Orange Remix)” :: A guaranteed hit-maker, Dev Hynes returns with a special take on Phoenix’s newest song featuring guest vocals from Mutya Keisha Siobhan.

07. CITY AND COLOUR – “Thirst” :: Canadian musician Dallas Green is returning with his new record The Hurry and The Harm.
