We were fortunate enough to meet William Beckett while he was performing his Jagger-like moves with The Academy Is during the Honda Civic Tour in 2007. And we are fortunate enough now to still call him a dear friend, 6 years later. That’s why we’re excited to finally hear his debut solo record, entitled Genuine & Counterfeit [released AUG 20 on Equal Vision Records].
William always says, “music is all about connection.” And he’s right. He’s been such a strong voice behind us, connecting his fans to work of IC. And if you’ve been around long enough to remember The Rescue, we found this archived in our server in the office, from Chicago.
