After practicing our Oprah yell, we had the honor and privilege of announcing the winner of our two-week Uganda trip giveaway today to Carlie Frye. Carlie is the third winner, leaving four all-expenses-paid trips to Uganda still up for grabs.
This win has been a long time coming for Carlie who has supported Invisible Children since the beginning. Carlie attended one of our very first screenings back when Jason, Bobby, and Laren hosted the screenings themselves. Since then, Carlie has participated in several IC fundraisers, attended both Fourth Estate Summits (plug: 2014 applications are open), and been the club advisor at her school’s Invisible Children Club, where she teaches high school English to students that absolutely adore her. And we can’t blame them because Carlie is a rockstar. Throughout her involvement with IC, Carlie has helped raise over $30,000 for Invisible Children’s life-saving programs. By reaching out to family and friends, including an old friend from college that donated $2,500 and got his company to match the donation, Carlie landed herself a free trip to Uganda. We couldn’t be more thrilled.
