Valentines day was a blast in the office this year. We exchanged Valentines, ate goodies, and won $5,000 from a livecharity contest. What a day!
Livecharity is a digital advertising company that utilizes an individual’s internet preferences in order to generate revenue (In layman’s terms: it gives you better advertisements). It then donates half of that revenue to the non-profit or social good company of the software user’s choosing. It was founded just last year and has already proven its dedication to social change through its continued efforts to highlight some of the amazing work being done by non-profits worldwide.
On January 13th, Livecharity launched their “Charity LOVE Giveaway Contest”. This month long contest gave non-profits a shot at winning $5,000 dollars via online voting. Our amazing supporters rallied around the cause and ultimately won it for Invisible Children. In order to enter the competition, our supporters had to add their name to a registration and ‘like’ LiveCharity on Facebook. We are so encouraged and inspired by our supporters who voted over 500 times to help us win the contest. And who says clictivism doesn’t pay off?
The $5,000 will be supporting Invisible Children’s life-saving work, including the rescue and rehabilitation of former child soldiers and the education of war-affected youth.
