Around the world, lunchtime serves to be a long-awaited break in many students’ school days. Staple foods, like beans and rice, make up a student’s typical lunchtime meal in Uganda. These simple, yet nutritious foods are low cost and easy to prepare in large quantities. This is especially important as some schools in Uganda have to efficiently and affordably serve upwards of 1,000 students each day.
