UN recognizes Palestinian state

On Nov. 29, the UN General Assembly voted on recognizing Palestine as a non-member observer state. Although met with hesitation from a few key countries, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas moved forward, stating it was the “last chance to save the two-state solution” with Israel. The U.S. and Israel agreed the resolution would place further obstacles between the Palestinian and Israeli peace process. 138 nations voted […]

Stories I Only Tell My Friends // a book review

Prepare yourselves – this blog has nothing to do with anything. I just finished Stories I Only Tell My Friends by Rob Lowe. Yes, the actor Rob Lowe wrote a book. And yes, it’s terrific. The book is so well-written that I kept checking the back of the book that says “…every word of which […]

Economic growth in Africa (an interesting blog)

Let’s play a little word association. When you hear the word “Africa,” what do you think of? My personal word choice – as someone who has yet to visit the continent – would be “safari” or “elephant” or “poverty” (I started the game so I get unlimited choices.) I asked Adam Finck, our Director of […]

It’s easy to tune out our surroundings as we go about this journey called life, but in doing so we potentially miss out on the little […]
