Let’s flashback a few years. Before MOVE:DC, KONY 2012, and even before 16 national tours. There were just a three young filmmakers who wanted to shed light on a neglected and forgotten crisis. We’ve come a long way since receiving our 501(c)(3) status in 2006 and it since then it has been no small journey.

Now, let’s flash forward to 2014. Last year, Beespace, an innovative non-profit was founded in New York. Beespace is a ‘non-profit incubator’ that helps to identify and launch the next generation of  inventive and ingenious non-profits.  Essentially, Beespace creates an environment for startup non-profits to gain knowledge, save money, and learn from other non-profits sharing the same space. We can only imagine how much smoother our take off would have been if we had a place to collaborate and dream with other dreamers.  We applaud Beespace on their ingenuity. Way to be! (Get it?)

Each one of the non-profits working at Beespace or “Incubees” are housed within Beespace’s NYC office space. Bee Space’s current Incubee’s include The Adventure Project, The Malala Fund, and Practice makes Perfect. Each one of the growing non-profits are given the expertise of a web designer, a fundraiser, a graphic designer and a PR specialist. They also provide strategic support, a community to grow and learn from, and a mentorship from a social mentor.

We love and are inspired by Beespace’s vision, aesthetic and drive. At Invisible Children, we believe that a worldview bound by borders is outdated and that stopping injustice anywhere is the responsibility of humanity everywhere. We are proud to be connected to an organization that is promoting those values by supporting the work of other amazing NGO’s.
