Speaking in hyperbole (as I often tend to), when I saw that Denai Moore had announced the details of her upcoming EP and premiered her first music video for her new track “Gone,” I think my heart stopped.
We included her on our list of artists to look out for in 2013 back in December after only hearing one of her song – “Flaws,” her debut track that began our obsession. It’s a raw, beautiful cut that is somehow understated and extravagant.
The follow-up track “Gone” only solidifies everything we said back at the beginning of the year. It’s a sparce, soulful, brutal track with a perfectly minimalist accompanying video. She is on some serious James Blake levels with this one. Her EP could be my most anticipated release of the year.
