marchONEWhat? It’s March? (insert cliché time flies expression).

But a new month is always exciting. Also a new month means new music. Today’s Monday Mixtape has some new stuff from some awesome musicians and some awesome stuff from some new musicians….okay that’s a bit of a mouthful, especially for a Monday. Bottom line: these songs are fresh and good. So get ’em while they’re hot.

01. Peter Matthew Bauer – Latin American Ficciones :: The latest member of The Walkmen to announce a solo album (“Liberation!” out in June) Bauer’s preview track shows signs of good things to come. And by good things, I mean quality rock ‘n’ roll.

02. Little Earthquake – Planets :: These two Australian brothers are one of the latest additions to contagious synth pop music. Their band may be called Little Earthquake, but you’ll definitely feel the rattle.

03. Nick Waterhouse – It #3 :: From Nick Waterhouse’s new album, Holly, which is out tomorrow, this song gives you a little pocket of sultry soul.

04. RAC – Tear You Down (Ft. Alex Ebert) :: remix master RAC (now the solo project of André Allen Anjo) has released the first of two parts from his debut album(s). Anjo co-wrote and produced every song. This upbeat track is from “Strangers Part 1”, features vocals from Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and it’ll make you happy.

05. RAC – Repeating Motion (Ft. Karl Kling) :: Okay. Couldn’t resist. RAC previewed a track from Strangers Part II (which will be released on April 1st). It features Karl Kling and it’s good enough to warrant the RAC double dose.

06. Psychologist – When Particles Collide :: Wait for it. Though Psychologist’s (Iain Woods) latest track remains ethereal throughout, a beat does kick in that will make you want to tap your toe (in a very chill way).
