Here it is people: the fifth and last mixtape for March. So as we march into April (see what I did there?) here’s some new music to close out one month and kick off the next. Hopefully, wherever you are, the warm weather is starting to come in and all you want to do is jam out in the sunshine.
01. Mac DeMarco – Passing Out Pieces :: A bit of psychedelia with some introspective lyrics. DeMarco merges some alternative genres to create a distinctive sound.
02. YACHT – Plastic Soul :: Doing what they do, YACHT constructs an inviting pop song by cleverly incorporating electronics and keeping the tempo light and likable.
03. Bear Hands – Agora :: Gentle lulling verses break up the amped, fast, coming-at-you beat of the chorus. This track will throw some oomph into your day.
04. Ayla Nereo – From the Ground Up :: What starts as lullaby-like vocals turns into something more intricate and chaotic. In relation to the softer voice, the drum beats add a sense of urgency. A deceptively expressive song that makes you ache and appreciate the loveliness at the same time.
05. Fickle Friends – PLAY :: This brand new song has right amount of luster and gloss. It strays into reflective moments, before quickly bouncing back to a danceable rhythm, creating a genius balance.
06. The Native Sibling – Carry You :: A beautiful song. Sweet + melodic; This brother-sister duo gets right down to your heart strings.
