At the center of all of our work to end violence and exploitation are amazing community leaders who are turning visions for peace into reality across central Africa. Partners like Samson who works with a community organization called Vie et Espoir.
CELEBRATE #GIVINGTUESDAY BY SUPPORTING LOCAL SOLUTIONS FOR PEACE.
Vie et Espoir, which means Life and Hope, is one of our partner organizations in the Central African Republic (CAR). With support from Invisible Children, Samson and his colleagues help vulnerable young people in their communities, including former members of armed groups like the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), become equipped to care for their families and support themselves. Through providing skills trainings to young people in their community, Vie et Espoir is giving dozens of families hope, and strengthening the whole community.
Samson believes that, as a community member, it is his responsibility to make his community stronger, and that education is the best way to do that. That’s why he teaches construction and carpentry to young people at Vie et Espoir’s center in Obo, CAR.
Samson’s job isn’t an easy one, though—particularly because violence in CAR and South Sudan has made it difficult for Samson to obtain the materials he needs to teach. That’s why we’ve partnered with Samson to make sure that he’s able to get what he needs to continue supporting strengthening his community.
This #GivingTuesday, we’re asking you to join us in making sure that Samson, and dozens of other community leaders like him have what they need to unlock solutions for peace in their communities. You can join us by helping us reach our goal of raising $20,000 on #GivingTuesday to support community-led solutions in central Africa.
Make a donation by Tuesday, November 29th, and your donation will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000 by a generous donor. That means, that you’ll have double the impact and leaders like Samson will have double the opportunity to continue making change in their communities.
