New music abounds this week.  We have no complaints, especially considering today’s offering comes from British pop singer-songwriter (and one of my favorites) Ellie Goulding.

She blew up in the UK with the release of her debut Lights back in 2010, shelling out six hit singles, topping the album charts, selling out gigs, and landing a performance spot at the royal wedding.  Stateside, her song “Lights” just reached the number two spot on the Billboard Hot 100 yesterday, a short thirty-three weeks after its release.  Strange, but we don’t complain.

Following the buzz track/Active Child cover with Tinie Tempah called “Hanging On” released last month, details were announced for Goulding’s second album Halcyon and the first single “Anything Could Happen.”  Based off the snippets posted on her YouTubeHalcyon is set to galvanize her dominance on the pop game.

Today marks the official launch of the next chapter of Ellie Goulding.  As avid readers, we can’t wait to see what comes next.

Check out the lyric video made from fan-submitted photos here.  Prepare yourself for the post-chorus – you won’t get that out of your brain for years:

Halcyon is out October 8 on Cherrytree/Interscope Records.
