Monday Mini Mixtape #7:

  • OF MONSTERS AND MEN “Six Weeks” – Iceland’s answer to Mumford & Sons and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. Big, anthemic, folky songs. I love.
  • DELTA SPIRIT “California” – New track from SD hometown hotties. We’ll be ON TOUR with them this spring. Come say hi… we’ll have a lot going on with them.
  • THE DRUMS “Days” – These guys just perfected being hipster so everyone can stop trying not to try. Every one of there songs is such a jammer… if you like Gang Of Four and Joy Division you’ll probs like these guys.
  • SOKO “I Thought I Was An Alien” – Winner of our Slashie Awards, French Actress/Singer (and not the other way around) is appearing on our mixes for the 2nd time. Kind of reminds me of a less baritone Nico (at least in this song).
    • DAMIEN JURADO “Working Titles” – Downer folk music just got a little happier… well.. maybe “catchier” with Damien’s new record. Nada at FWBA had some great things to say.
    • CHARLI XCX “I’ll Never Know” – Charli’s vocals are sultry and cute. We’ll be working with her at SXSW… shhhh.. we’ll be announcing soon enough.
    • DELTA SPIRIT “The Flood” – Since we’re on tour with this gem of a band, I thought I’d share another song to show their diversity. They’ll get you dancing one minute then have you contemplating the meaning of original sin the next.
