This morning I woke up overly excited for the day. Reason: today was “Take your child to work day”. So I went with my step mom to the Invisible Children headquarters where she works as a writer. The instant you walk in you are immersed into a fun, artistic atmosphere. I was introduced to a lot of people I didn’t know and also greeted by some familiar faces whom I met last time I volunteered. I had a lot of fun exploring the building, getting lost, drinking Hawaiian coffee, and discovering how the soap dispenser works in the bathroom (more difficult than you might think).
I hope everyone realizes that this organization is real, and the people that work here do so because they believe in the cause and know that believing in something is the first step to change. That’s the thing I witnessed today. These people want to be here. They want to make a difference, and they want to stand up for something bigger than themselves.
I think my favorite part of the day was interacting with everyone. Their determination for justice is contagious. It is amazing how so many people from all over the world have come together to work for something they believe in. It is truly inspiring. No matter the circumstances, they always have a smile on their face. I am thrilled that I got to be a part of the magic today. So excited for Cover the Night. STOP AT NOTHING.
Think people should hear about this?
