Imagine coming home for the first time in years and finding that someone else is living in your house. They tell you that it doesn’t belong to you anymore. Now you have to find somewhere else to live, even though you know that you still own the place.

This scenario has played out hundreds of times for people returning to their homes after leaving displacement camps in northern Uganda. Now, International Justice Mission (IJM) is helping them get their property back. IJM has an office in Kampala, Uganda, and has helped hundreds of people reclaim stolen property in the area. After hearing about the plight of their northern Ugandan brothers and sisters, they want to open an office in Gulu, Uganda and help displaced people reclaim their property.

Their work in Gulu is just beginning, and they will need some help getting off the ground. If you would like to make a donation toward their new field office, or if you’re interested in learning more about IJM and their work, please take a look at their web page.
