To take you successfully into the weekend, the second to last of the month, we are featuring one of the biggest songs of the past seven days (and possibly the most subtle jam of the summer) as our weekend anthem.

The track comes from the pop wonderland country of Sweden, specifically a club promoter by the name of Ludvig Parment, going by Saturday, Monday. That is essentially where the information about this mysterious Swede stops, apart from the name of his upcoming debut album The Road and The Ocean and The End. Julia Spada, lead singer of the band O’Spada, provides the vocals on the track.

Headshake” first started making noise when East Village Radio presenter + all around musical clairvoyant Jason Eldredge spun it on his show, then London-based snarkysmart pop music blog Popjustice gave it top billing. As a big fan of those two, I knew this had to be big – and it is. It’s five plus minutes of bouncy, piano-pop bliss.

Listen to “Headshake” below. You can view the chilled Skins-y video here.

Be sure to follow Saturday, Monday on all possible platforms. The only way is up from here.

Have a quality weekend.
