Happy Labor Day, those who are celebrating today. For everyone else, Happy Average Monday. This week’s Monday Mini Mixtape comes courtesy of me, Alex Naser-Hall, the new Artist Relations Assistant in the Music Department. The theme of this week’s collection of songs is “nonexistent” in that it doesn’t have one. My musical taste would lead one to believe I have Dissociative Identity Disorder, which I am quite fine with.

Give the tape a go by downloading it at this link HERE, and be sure to support the artists that you’re feeling. Let us know on twitter @invisible_music what your favorite songs are. Let’s get this going:

01. Young Cairo – “Ghosts” // We featured the video for this new artist last week, and it’s been ingrained in the brain (intentional rhyme) ever since.

02. Ben Sollee – “Unfinished” // Ben Sollee is a good ol’ Kentucky boy (much like myself). His instrumental talent is unrivaled. This is his newest cut off his upcoming album.

03. Kisses – “Funny Heartbeat” // This one is just blatantly lilting. I imagine lots of clouds glimmering around when this is on.

04. Night Panther – “Fever” // “Fever” is actually the slickest song of summer. The falsetto does everything.

05. Wavves – “Hippies Is Punks” // Wavves have always been a severe favorite of mine, and this track continues the trend. It makes me feel like a mild rocker.

06. Sky Ferreira – “Everything is Embarrassing” // This one (pun for the true Ferreira fans) has been blowing up since it was released online last week. Sky’s been on my radar since her debut single “17,” and to hear her on this track with the incredible Dev Hynes aka Blood Orange is all I dream about.

07. Jessie Ware – “Swan Song” // “Swan Song” is a subtle little number off the impeccable debut from London’s new soul queen.

08. Princess Music – “White Wave” // Sufjan Steven’s silence in the music industry lately creates a pretty large gap, and Princess Music helps fill that in just a little.

09. Alt-J – “Dissolve Me” // The Alt-J record has taken me a while to become invested in, but now I am fully involved. The music they’re producing isn’t happening from anyone else on the scene.

10. Foy Vance – “Into the Fire” // We love a good Communion artist, and Foy Vance is no exception. His new EP is too beautiful. Alex Collins can’t get enough of this.

Take care this week.
