President Barack Obama and Former President Bill Clinton at the Global Clinton Initiative

At the Clinton Global Initiative, a bipartisan event where Gov. Romney and others were in attendance, President Obama issued an executive order to combat human trafficking and named our friends — International Justice Mission (IJM) — in the process.

“We are especially honored to be joined today by advocates who dedicate their lives and at times risk their lives to liberate victims and help them recover,” said President Obama, who praised IJM, an organization detected to combating  human trafficking worldwide.

The president’s commitment to seeing an end to human trafficking comes after IJM, and partner organization the Passion Movement, delivered 73 ,000 petitions that called the President to take four steps to combat slavery.

One of the steps, which the President made an executive order, was to force “all U.S. government contracts to include supply chain transparency requirements.”

Keep up the good work IJM!
