LSP students at Layibi SS know what it takes to lead

Legacy Scholarship Program (LSP) students at Layibi SS met this week to elect student leaders. Three of them shared their thoughts on what qualities they believe make a good leader.

Name: Walter
Career goal: Agricultural officer
What does it take to be a good leader? “According to me, a good leader should be able to lead, and not rule. What really makes a leader is the ability to live exemplary.”

Name: Paul

Career goal: Doctor
What does it take to be a good leader? “It’s not quite easy being a leader. One should be ready to sacrifice time and attend to the people they represent.”

Name: Savior
Career goal: Accountant
What does it take to be a good leader? “I can’t imagine our school with no student leaders, we simply can’t do without leadership. As the outgoing lead scholar, this position put me in situations where I had to make quick decisions, building my confidence which [taught me] good leadership.”

The new LSP student leaders will take on various duties like representing, mobilizing and guiding all beneficiaries in the school. One of the responsibilities they spearhead is mobilizing students under the program to clean around the school compound or the church. The students of Layibi SS know that being a good leader means serving their community.
