Here’s the good news: if you can’t make it to MOVE:DC, you can help send a group of people who can.

We know that it can get expensive to head out to Washington DC, especially when it’s on short-ish notice. We don’t want money and/or transportation to hinder people from attending the event which is why we’re launching the MOVE:DC ‘Fund a Bus’ grant.

We clearly do not condone this bus. But for the purpose of this blog post, it’s fun to look at.

There are two types of MOVE:DC ‘Fund a Bus’ grants:
1. Get a bus to get your group to MOVE:DC

* Group must be within an 8-hour drive to Washington DC
* Groups that are granted a bus must have at least 25 people registered and confirmed for the MOVE:DC event
* Groups that are granted a bus are charged with filling the entire bus with help from the IC office (45 seats)

2. Get funding for group transportation to get to MOVE:DC (aka – you live farther than 8 hours away or you hate buses and prefer to rent hovercrafts. Just kidding – please don’t ride in on hovercrafts.)

* Group must use this funding towards mobilizing a large group out to MOVE:DC

* Groups applying for funding must provide a detailed explanation of what they plan to use the money for in their MOVE:DC ‘Fund a Bus’ grant application.

Which leads us to the fine print details about applying:

*Fill out and submit an application.
*All applications must be submitted to [email protected] by 9AM (PST) Wednesday, Nov. 7th to be considered for MOVE:DC funding.
*All MOVE:DC ‘Fund a Bus’ grant recipients will be announced by Invisible Children on Thursday, Nov. 8th via Livestream at 12PM PST.

If the two grant options don’t apply to you and you would just like to donate money to the Bus Fund, you can donate through a secure page found HERE.

So much information, so little time.

We look forward to working with you on your ‘Fund a Bus’ endeavors. If you have questions, please email [email protected]. She would love, love, love to supply you with answers.
