It’s the time of year again, and we’re not afraid to get cheesy or make lists, so we’re doing both. We’ve conducted a survey of multiple staff Christmas movie favorites, and this is what we came up with. I’d like to go ahead and say I’ve included my judgements. It’s my blog post, and I’ll do what I want.

Krista Morgan (One of our amazing staff writers):

  1. Love Actually
  2. Miracle on 34th Street

Opinion: Flawless. As expected from Krista. She chose something funny and something classic. You can’t go wrong with either of these. (Cough cough, she’s my boss I have to like everything she likes)

Azy Groth (Another one of our amazing staff writers and Krista’s right arm):

  1. While You Were Sleeping
  2. Christmas Vaction

Opinion: Firstly, great choices. Secondly, who knew While You Were Sleeping was a Christmas movie?

Lauren Bailey (Movement Coordinator)

  1. White Christmas
  2. It’s a Wonderful Life

Opinion: When I asked Lauren Bailey about this, her first (very quick) response was The Santa Clause and Love Actually. She instead decided to take a more serious holiday spirit approach, which I can appreciate. I’d rather watch Love Actually, though…just saying.

Noelle West (Director of Communications):

  1. It’s A Wonderful Life
  2. Home Alone 1

Opinion: You’ll see throughout this survey many folks chose Home Alone 1 over Home Alone 2 and 3 (does the third one even count?) Interestingly, you’ll find that Buzzfeed and I have similar opinions in the well-documented list “25 Reasons Home Alone 2 Is Way Better Than The Original”

Jason Russell (Who’s that?)

  1. Scrooged
  2. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Cartoon version, obviously)

Opinion: Hats off to our dear JR for having the most unique choices out of everyone. Choosing Scrooged made my day because I love Bill Murray and everything he does. Too bad Where The Buffalo Roam isn’t a Christmas movie.

Ben Keesey (Our CEO, duh):

  1. Home Alone 1
  2. Elf

Opinion: We all know my opinion on the first, so I’ll talk about the latter – Elf. In the words of Ben himself, “Will Ferrell is genius.” I couldn’t have said it better.

Zach Barrows (Movement Director):

  1. It’s A Wonderful Life
  2. The Family Stone

Opinion: Well, Zach, way to be original. You’re the first to add The Family Stone into the mix, and for good reason. Rachel McAdams of course! Kidding, although she is one of the greatest like…ever.

Jedediah Jenkins (Director of Ideology):

  1. Home Alone 1
  2. Christmas Vacation

Opinion: If you were to change that 1 to a 2, you’d have my favorites. Jed, it looks like we’re almost Christmas movie twins.

Alex Collins (Artist Relations):

  1. A Charlie Brown Christmas
  2. Home Alone 1

Opinion: And finally someone chooses the most classic of all classics as their first choice: A Charlie Brown Christmas. I’m pretty sure this will play on ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas four, five, or six times, so if you’ve never seen it, this could be your year.

Chadwick Gantes (One of the greatest graphic designers on the planet):

  1. Elf
  2. It’s a Wonderful Life

Opinion: It’s official that everyone in the world seems to have It’s A Wonderful Life in their top two. The only reason I truly love that movie is because my dad loves it, but if it didn’t have that memory attached to it, I’d most likely spend my holidays watching Jude Law in The Holiday. Sorry if I’m not old fashioned enough for you guys.
