At CMJ Music Marathon back in the fall, I saw MS MR perform during Brooklyn Vegan’s Day Party. Invisible Children Music have been followers of the New York City duo since they dropped “Hurricane” and the accompanying video. They mark the darkest, catchiest pop in town.

At the show, they played a song (that I then didn’t know the name of) with an explosive chorus that I immediately decided would be one of the best songs of 2013.

I wrote:

The third “goose pimple” moment came from whatever song they played third. Assumingly off their upcoming 2013 first full-length LP, the song featured the word “fantasy” in it quite a lot (they didn’t give a title, and it would have been rude to ask.) Whatever that track is, it soared – it’s a smash in the waiting. (If you read this, MS MR, make that the next single, please.)

Today, all of that is coming true.

“Fantasy” is the next single taken from the two’s upcoming debut full-length record due sometime this spring. It’s as dynamic as “Hurricane,” and features the subtle, Hurts-esque backing vocals that translated so well live.

Ahead of that album, MS MR are gearing up for a stint in Australia and the UK. Dates can be found [HERE].
