Swimming pools and skateboards have always gone together. It was in empty swimming pools in southern Californian backyards during the 1970’s that the sport was born. Skateboards were created to mimic surfing, so it only made sense to try to carve the curvaceous walls of swimming pools in suburbia.

During an iconic scene in the film Lords of Dogtown, the founders of the movement – played by Heath Ledger and Emile Hirsch – sneak into a stranger’s backyard to test the idea for the first time. After several failed attempts, they finally land the trick and leave a legacy that has lasted nearly 40 years.

Recently, street artist and avid skateboarder, D* Face, took the idea to a whole new level when he added spray paint to the equation. And the rest as they say, is history:
