Sometimes all you need is a jump start to pursue your dreams. Luckily, this summer, we’re bringing activists from around the world to our Fourth Estate Leadership Summit, providing them with tools to make a difference in the world and in their own communities. Complete with breakout sessions, workshops, new Invisible Children media, and dance parties, the Summit will also host an interactive Common Good Exchange with 40 top social organizations.

In the spirit of inspiring a generation to take action, we are proud to welcome DoSomething.org to the Summit.
DoSomething CGXSince it’s initial launch in 1993, DoSomething.org has evolved into the country’s largest nonprofit that focuses on encouraging youth to actively engage in social change. With a network of more than 1.6 million members, the organization creates national campaigns with tangible action steps so that 13-to-25-year-olds can make a difference in their communities. Unlike many nonprofits, the organization doesn’t focus on one issue, but rather helps youth develop campaigns around their interests and provides them with steps to implement projects without “money, an adult, or a car.”

Whether someone is passionate about animal rights, the environment, or human rights, DoSomething.org’s causes makes it easy for people to research ongoing issues and provides online resources and action plans to get involved right away. As much as the organization encourages youth to take on their own projects, it also hosts national-wide efforts and partners with various companies to put on campaigns such as “Band Together,” which focuses on saving music education through crowd sourcing videos.

Activists can then participate in a campaign alone or start an issue-based club to work with friends. Because it values the youth voice, the organization provides grants and scholarships so that young activists can pursue their goals passionately and creatively.

Don’t sit around while the doors to social justice are wide open – Do Something. Join us, this August in Los Angeles at the second annual Fourth Estate Leadership Summit, where you’ll be able to interact and discuss our global role in humanitarian efforts with the people behind this and other social good organizations.
