01. BIRDY – “Wings” :: We have so much love for Birdy. Her first record was enchanting – a hint at the brilliance to come. Her song for Brave was incredible, and this is a song of a fully formed artist. So looking forward to the album.
02. ANDY BULL – “Baby I Am Nobody Now” :: This is my most recent discovery that has blown my mind. This song is actually really sad, but melodically it’s very peppy. Big fan.
03. BASEMENT JAXX – “What A Difference Your Love Makes” :: Basement Jaxx return with another huge summer anthem. They will never churn out a non-classic.
04. ICONA POP – “All Night” :: Speaking of classics, Icona Pop’s newest American single is huge. They have the formula on anthemic electro-pop. I’ve seen these ladies perform a few times now, and they truly deserve all the international praise they’re getting.
05. CLARE MAGUIRE – “Paper Thin” :: Clare Maguire has come out of a long hiatus to deliver some of the most genuine songwriting in years. This new one is so intricate and different. It’s entirely genius. We adore her.
06. SAM SMITH – “Safe With Me” :: Sam Smith brings 90s R&B confidently into this decade. He smashed it with “Latch” and “La La La” and his solo acoustic tracks. This new one is a different style but staple Smith. His forthcoming EP is going to be the most interesting release of 2013.
07. AOSOON – “What Is This About” :: The folk-soul sounds of this duo out of London are sitting nicely in our ears this summer. Honest, heartfelt songwriting.
08. HAIM – “The Wire” :: This song has been a live favorite of ours when we saw this LA sister trio, so it’s good to finally have this studio track in our life.
