Sofia Liberti, a ten-year-old girl living in Germany, knows what it means to stop at nothing. After seeing the KONY 2012 video, Sofia spent a year sharing the documentary with anyone and everyone – her parents, her friends, her church, and even her school principal. Against the urgings of her parents to stop obsessing over the KONY 2012 campaign, Sofia could not give up her desire to take action. And act she did. Sofia organized a week-long bake sale at her school, got a local church on board, and ended up raising $1,000.27 – all by herself. Did we mention she’s only ten? We think she deserves a red carpet sprinkled with rose petals sprinkled with gold flakes.

But get this: Instead of merely donating her hard-earned fundraising money online, Sofia wrangled her family into flying from Germany to Los Angeles for the 2013 Fourth Estate Summit to deliver the donation in person. Sofia and her family were guests on our Summit livestream, where she shared her story and officially earned herself the status as the coolest ten-year-old we know.

Fourth Estaters like Sofia are famous for being radical fundraisers, and they made that clear from day one of the social justice conference. After seeing a sneak preview of the new #zeroLRA fundraising campaign launching this September, attendees collectively pledged to raise over $2 million for the men, women, and children still suffering at the hands of the Kony’s rebel army. Of course, attendees outdid themselves by getting a jumpstart on their fundraising and successfully raising $28,340 during the conference weekend. Wow.

We thank the 2013 Fourth Estate Summit for jumping the gun on their fundraising and getting us one step closer to a world with #zeroLRA. To Sofia and the entire Fourth Estate family: we give you a standing ovation.
