Hello, and welcome to your new week. The music that’s come out in the past couple weeks has been too top-notch to continue my hiatus from curating these mixtapes. Huge returns (Blood Orange and Alex Winston) and massive debuts (RÁJ and Javeon) comprise this mix. For the cover, I couldn’t ignore the aesthetic inspiration that came from the House of Holland collection at London Fashion Week, as presented this past Saturday.

Launch the mix by streaming below or click the link [HERE].

01. JAVEON – “Lovesong” :: I discovered this song because of my favorite human/musician Jessie Ware. She tweeted a link to this video this week, and I immediately fell in love with it. I’ve felt some snappy dance music missing in my life recently, and this fills that hole for me.

02. BLOOD ORANGE – “Chamakay” :: Dev Hynes is the secret man behind music’s freshest releases. He produced the entire Solange EP (which is magic), the Mutya Keisha Siobhan track “Flatlines” (one of my fave of the year) and several gems from Laura Welsh (see “Unravel” and “Undiscovered.”) He’s also an incredible artist on his own – he dropped several albums under the moniker Lightspeed Champion and has recently recorded under the name Blood Orange. This new song is INCREDIBLE. It features vocals from the lead singer from Chairlift, which are beautiful. The whole thing is very MJ, and the video is utterly mesmerizing.

03. DENAI MOORE – “Everything” :: So into everything Denai releases. This is the newest track from the London singer/songwriter off her forthcoming second EP The Lake. Lots of genres molding into this track.

04. ALEX WINSTON – “101 Vultures” :: I’VE WAITED SO LONG FOR NEW MUSIC FROM ALEX WINSTON. Her debut album was one of the most unique albums of the decade. “101 Vultures” is her return, and it’s straight venom.

05. RÁJ – “Ghost” :: One of my favorite songwriters Daniel Merriweather tweeted a couple months back that this guy RÁJ was one to watch. I trust Daniel, so I trusted his recommendation. Out of nowhere, RÁJ dropped this track that BLEW MY MIND. It’s such a gorgeous little thing.

06. CLARE MAGUIRE – “Little White Lies” :: Twang and groove marry splendidly in this new single from our favorite Clare Maguire.

07. RUEN BROTHERS – “Blood Runs Wild” :: Ruen Brothers are churning out anthem after anthem. This song has such an insane chorus. I feel very strongly that this could be the song to catapult them to where they deserve to be.

08. V V BROWN – “The Apple” :: V V Brown’s new album Samson and Delilah is massive. This newest single is a great read on the left-field magic the album offers.
